✅ Recovery isn’t about solving symptoms — it’s about raising your consciousness.
✅ You can’t fix fear with more thinking, tools, or strategies.
✅ Real change happens when you stop trying to “solve” the loop and start creating a new way of being.
✅ New episode: The Personas Behind OCD & Anxiety - How Letting Go of Your “Mask” Heals the Loop
Matt's Message of the Week
Stop Trying to Solve the Problem — Start Creating Your Life
“You can never solve a problem from the same level of consciousness that created it.”
This week, I talked about one of the biggest misunderstandings in OCD, anxiety, panic, and emotional recovery:
Most people are trying to solve their uncomfortable emotions.
They’re trying to fix intrusive thoughts.
Trying to eliminate anxiety.
Trying to make panic go away.
Trying to “solve” fear like it’s a math equation.
But this mindset is the very thing that keeps people stuck.
We’re raised in a problem-solving world. In school, we’re literally handed problems and told there’s a right answer. So naturally, when fear shows up, we treat it like another problem to fix.
But recovery isn’t about fixing symptoms.
And even if you manage to remove the symptoms, all you’re left with is the absence of a problem — not the life you truly want.
Creating the life you want — mental health, emotional health, clarity, peace — requires a completely different paradigm. A different skill set. A different level of consciousness.
This is why so many people struggle for years:
They keep trying to solve something that was never meant to be solved.
As Carl Jung said:
“The greatest and most important problems of life are… insoluble.
They can never be solved, but only outgrown.A new level of consciousness appears, and through this widening of view,
the problem loses its urgency.
It fades, not because it was solved, but because a stronger life tendency emerged.”
This is what real recovery looks like.
You stop trying to outthink fear.
You stop trying to eliminate thoughts.
You stop trying to manage panic.
And instead, you rise to a level of consciousness where those things no longer define your reality.
If you’ve been dealing with intrusive thoughts or anxiety for a long time — and you’re still in the same place — it’s not because you’ve failed.
It’s because you're using the wrong paradigm.
You can’t create a new life through the mindset of solving.
You create it by becoming someone new.
