Happy 4th of July

As we celebrate Independence Day, I'm reminded that freedom has always required courage.

The people who signed the Declaration of Independence risked everything because freedom mattered more than staying where they were.

And I think there's a powerful parallel in recovery.

Freedom from fear isn't something that simply happens.

It requires a decision.

A declaration that fear is no longer going to run your life.

Because fear promises safety.

It promises certainty.

It promises control.

But what it ultimately offers is a prison.

A prison of rumination, avoidance, and constantly trying to manage life.

This week, I want to leave you with one question:

What would true independence from fear look like for you?

Because when you stop living under fear's rule...

That's where real freedom begins.
