Does this sound familiar?

You understand fear and anxiety better than most. And yet you're still stuck.

  • You have the intrusive thought — and you spend hours ruminating on it.
  • You avoid situations, even though you know avoidance isn't helping.
  • You seek reassurance, and the relief wears off within the hour.
  • You try to figure it out, one more time, hoping this time it sticks.
  • You know what you're supposed to do — but you can't consistently do it when fear hits.

That gap between knowing and doing is exactly what this program is designed to close.

A message from Matt

Hear it from someone who's lived it.

Matt built Taking Back Control from the inside — after years stuck in the same loops and finding the framework that finally helped him break free. In this short video, he'll explain what the program is and who it's for.

What's actually been happening

Almost everything you've done to feel better has been feeding it.

The checking. The avoiding. The reassurance. The mental review at 2 a.m. Every one of them buys a few minutes and charges interest.

And here's the part that stings: you can use anything as a form of resistance if you're using it to get rid of fear and anxiety. Even the tools meant to help you.

That's exactly why understanding alone isn't enough — and it isn't something you fix by reading more carefully. It's something someone has to catch you doing, in real time, while you're doing it.

That's what the coaching is for.

Loop Repeats

The loop loses its fuel

Resistance falls away — the ring can't close.

The paradoxical path to healing

The harder you try to get better, the further away you get.

Whether it's OCD, general anxiety, or panic attacks, the paradox is the same: the more you fight the thoughts and the anxiety, the more you feed them. Fighting is the problem.

The paradoxical path to healing is to eliminate all of your inner resistance.

  1. Fear shows up

A thought or a wave of anxiety activates in your nervous system.

  2. The turn

    Resistance drops

Instead of fighting it, you let go of the inner resistance.

  3. It runs its course

The anxiety gets to surface, peak, and pass on its own.

  4. Your system settles

Your body releases what it's been holding. Nervous system calms, mind calms.

That's not something you can just tell yourself to do. To reach a genuinely non-resistant state you have to retrain how your entire nervous system operates — its perspective, its whole paradigm — not just what you think about fear.

That's the central focus of this program: teaching you how to eliminate that resistance so your body can naturally release the excess energy it's been carrying. As it does, your nervous system calms down. Your mind calms down. And the loop loses what it runs on.

The solution

The Triple-A Response®

The three moves you run when fear shows up, with one job: to eliminate your inner resistance.

The goal isn't to eliminate fear.

The goal isn't to eliminate thoughts.

The goal is to eliminate your resistance to them.

The Triple-A Response® is how you actually do that — the way you drop the resistance in the moment it matters, instead of just knowing you should. In coaching you run it, in real time, until it becomes the thing your system reaches for on its own.

Do that, and the loop weakens every time — not because you're managing it better, but because you're no longer feeding it.

What you get

Here's everything that's included.

Taking Back Control isn't a video library you work through alone. It's a full implementation and coaching experience — several layers of structure and support working together.

The structured path

Your 12-Week Path

You are not buying a pile of content — you are entering a structured implementation process. Each phase builds on the last, with the right focus at the right time.

1Foundations
Foundations — Creating Safety & Orientation

Before real change can happen, your system needs clarity — not more effort.

In this stage, you learn how the OCD & Anxiety loop and the healing process actually work in the brain, body, and nervous system. As things begin to make sense, confusion and self-blame start to fall away — and urgency softens.

This stage is designed to help you:

  • finally understand why your symptoms feel so intense and unpredictable
  • recognize that the loop is a learned pattern — not a personal failure
  • stop misinterpreting fear as danger and start responding from clarity instead of urgency
  • see how avoidance, resistance, and safety behaviors unintentionally keep the loop alive
  • experience your first sense of internal stability and orientation
For many people, this is the moment they realize:
“Nothing is wrong with me — my system has just been stuck in the wrong pattern.”

This stage removes the “what’s wrong with me?” question — so your energy can finally go toward healing instead of self-monitoring.

This is where the fog lifts — and the ground underneath you starts to feel solid again.

2Weeks 1–6
Breaking the Loop — Changing Your Response

This is where the work moves from understanding to embodiment — and change becomes tangible.

Using the Triple-A Response®, you learn how to respond to intrusive thoughts, fear, and discomfort in a way that no longer feeds the loop, and instead retrains your brain and nervous system in real time.

Rather than analyzing, suppressing, or trying to get rid of fear, you practice meeting it correctly — through a clear, repeatable response that your system can actually learn from.

With consistent application, this response begins to shift from something you do to something your system defaults to.

This stage is designed to help you:

  • interrupt spirals before they gain momentum
  • remove compulsive and safety-driven reactions
  • retrain your nervous system to stop mislabeling fear as danger
  • build confidence through lived experience — not reassurance

For many people, this is where relief becomes real. Not because fear disappears — but because their relationship to fear fundamentally changes. You stop feeling at the mercy of your thoughts. Your body begins to stand down.

This is where the loop loses its grip — not through effort, but through repetition, retraining, and lived experience.

3Weeks 7–9
Going Deeper — Creating Lasting Change

By this point, the loop has begun to loosen.

You’re no longer reacting to fear the same way — and because of that, your system finally has the space to go deeper.

This stage is where the work moves beneath surface patterns and addresses the root-level dynamics that kept the OCD & Anxiety loop alive for years. Not by reliving the past. Not by digging endlessly. But by gently releasing what no longer needs to be carried.

In this stage, you’re guided to:

  • identify and release emotional patterns that formed around fear and protection
  • unwind belief systems that quietly shaped how you see yourself and the world
  • let go of fear-based roles, identities, and self-concepts that were built to keep you safe
  • resolve stored emotional and somatic stress that kept your nervous system on high alert

This is where change stops feeling fragile. Because you’re no longer building on top of fear — you’re removing what was feeding it. Your reactions soften. Your body holds less tension. And fear loses its ability to pull you back into old patterns.

This stage is what allows healing to hold over time — not because you’re trying harder, but because the underlying drivers have been addressed.

4Weeks 10–12
Living From Trust — Integration, Stability & Freedom

This final stage is where the work becomes who you are — not something you practice.

By this point, the loop has lost its authority. Fear no longer dictates your choices. And trust has begun to replace vigilance as your default way of moving through life.

In this stage, the focus shifts from healing to living.

You’re guided to:

  • stabilize the changes you’ve made so progress feels natural, not fragile
  • integrate trust into everyday moments — work, relationships, health, and decision-making
  • recognize early signals without reacting or spiraling
  • respond to future stressors from capacity instead of fear
  • build a life structure that supports regulation, presence, and self-trust

This is where relapse prevention becomes less about strategies and more about how you relate to yourself and uncertainty. Fear may still arise — because you’re human. But it no longer runs the show. Instead of checking, managing, or bracing against life, you move forward with a grounded confidence in your ability to handle what comes.

This is what it means to live from trust. Not a constant state of calm. Not a life without discomfort. But a stable, embodied sense of safety within yourself — one that carries into the future without effort or force.

This is where recovery stops being a phase… and becomes the foundation of your life.

Who you'll learn from

Guidance from someone who's lived it.

Matt Codde, LCSW, didn't figure this out from the sidelines. For years he lived inside the same fear loops — intrusive thoughts, constant monitoring, trying to think his way to safety.

“I don't fix people. I walk alongside you, help you understand what's actually happening, and coach you as you build the skills to live in trust again.”

That lived experience — plus years of clinical training and study — is what led to the Triple-A Response® and the integrated approach behind Taking Back Control.

Before you apply

This isn't right for everyone, and I'd rather say so now.

This is for you if:

  • You already understand the loop and you still can't consistently interrupt it.
  • You've done therapy, or ERP, or the books, and something is still missing.
  • You want structure and people, not another library.
  • You're willing to be uncomfortable on purpose, repeatedly, for twelve weeks.
  • You can make two or three live groups a week.

This isn't for you if:

  • You want someone to reassure you that the feared thing isn't true. Nobody here will do that — reassurance feeds the loop.
  • You're looking for a course to work through alone. This is coaching; the groups are the point.
  • You want us to tell you it'll definitely work for your specific case before you start. Nobody can, and wanting that guarantee is usually the loop showing up at the decision.
  • You're in crisis right now. Please use the resources below — this isn't the right step in this moment.

Questions

Questions you might have.

Who is Taking Back Control for?

People who feel stuck in the fear loop — intrusive thoughts, anxiety, worry, avoidance — and are ready to change how they respond to fear rather than keep managing it. It's for those who want structure, coaching, and live support while they put the work into practice.

How is this different from just taking a course?

A course gives you information. Taking Back Control is built around implementation — a structured 12-week program plus daily live group coaching and on-demand guided resources, so you actually apply what you learn when fear shows up in real life.

How does the application process work?

The Coaching Program is application-based. You complete a short application about your experience and what you're looking for, our team reviews it, and if it's a fit we reach out with next steps.

What is the Double Your Support Guarantee?

If you've completed the 12-week program, consistently shown up for group coaching, and genuinely worked to implement what you've learned — but you're still not where you want to be at the end of it — we'll give you another 12 weeks of group coaching completely free. All you need to do is ask. It isn't a refund and there's nothing to claim, and it's tied to actually doing the work rather than simply finishing the calendar. It's a commitment to keep supporting your implementation, not a promise of a specific outcome.

Is Taking Back Control therapy?

No. Taking Back Control is educational coaching and a structured implementation program — not therapy, diagnosis, or treatment, and not a substitute for medical or mental-health care. Matt is an LCSW, but the program is coaching and education.

Do I need a diagnosis to participate?

No. You don't need a formal diagnosis. The program is built around the fear loop and how you respond to fear, which shows up in many forms.

How much time should I expect to commit?

It's a 12-week implementation program you move through at a sustainable pace, plus the practices you build into everyday life. Daily live group coaching is there every weekday when you need it.

What happens after I apply?

We review every application carefully. If Taking Back Control looks like the right fit, we'll reach out to walk you through the next steps. If it isn't the right fit, we'll tell you honestly.

Your next step

You don't have to keep trying to figure this out alone.

If you're ready for structure, coaching, and real support to actually apply the work, the next step is simply to apply. We'll personally review whether Taking Back Control is the right fit for you.
